About Us

PacifiCore Construction Inc. (PCI) is a highly skilled and experienced general contracting firm specializing in retail construction.  Based in Southern California, PacifiCore Construction has successfully completed numerous projects throughout the Western United States.

We are one of the most respected commercial contractors in the Western United States. We pride ourselves on delivering an unparalleled project for every client. By utilizing superior project management, highly trained craftsman, and the latest in construction technology to reduce costs, we complete projects on time and on budget without compromising quality.

Since forming in 2009, PCI has been called upon by some of the biggest names in retail, grocery, and restaurant. Although founded in Southern California, the company’s reach extends to Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.

Our History

In July of 2012 Scot Austin asked his father Jeff Austin to take over the business portion of his construction company, Austin Construction (est. 2009).  Scot’s 12 years of commercial and residential construction experience paired perfect with Jeff’s 35 years of business and management experience gained as an executive in the IT industry.  They changed the name from Austin Construction to PacifiCore Construction Inc.

Scot immediately identified experts with Retail Supermarket construction experience.  He hired 25 year veteran Paul Van Kammen, Sr. VP of Retail Construction, to run the field operations and concentrate his efforts in the Retail Construction space. Vicky Omae was selected to lead our accounting department and now heads up HR, Payroll and Financial Administration. Together we started PacifiCore.

Jeff has extensive business knowledge and success in growing successful companies.  He recruited senior level Board of Directors to assist in PacifiCore’s expansion and future growth. David Hunt our first Director, Chris Christy and Scott Fawcett; became independent Board members of PacifiCore during 2011-2013.

The business was directed towards industries where we had industry expertise.  Paul Van Kammen and Scot Austin were solely focused on applying their efforts into Commercial Retail Construction.  Paul had a loyal following of customers and personnel from his more than 25 years of experience in the retail construction industry.  Therefore, in 2012 we identified opportunities where there had not been a major construction general contractor dominating Southern California. PacifiCore became the dominant player.

As a start-up, our efforts were concentrated on the Ethnic Specialty Supermarket industry where we became a major player in a short amount of time. We had our initial opportunity with Northgate Markets, then El Super and Superior Grocery stores all serving the Hispanic communities. Today, PacifiCore is a Tier 1 Construction Company in the Retail Construction industry in Southern California and has expanded over the Western United States with our customer’s growth.

 

Our valued (sample) clients now include: El Super, Northgate, Kroger, Restaurant Depot, Smart & Final, Vons, Chick Fil-A, Burlington Stores, Chipotle, El Pollo Loco, Family Dollar and Dollar General. Along with this growth came retail developers such as Pacific Development Partners, Marinita, The Calida Group and Baldwin and Sons to name a few, gaining entrance into Retail Centers, Senior Living, Hotels, Restaurants, Department and Pharmacy Stores.

 

In 2014, PacifiCore built a new business unit in the Construction Services Segment of the market serving our customers minor construction needs and today is led by Dave Hunt who is the Managing Director of Services. Under his direction and leadership, our 24/7 construction services department, which services retail, restaurants, super markets and specialty stores has grown exponentially in accounts and profitability. We see major growth potential with PacifiCore’s Construction Services division through internal expansion and possibly acquisitions in the coming years.

 

In 2016 we added a strategic business development unit (Sales/Marketing) led by Alexandra Key, Director of Business Development. Alex has been in the construction industry for 25 years and was instrumental in starting our Hospitality group.  Her leadership, skills and knowledge of this market space will further expand PacifiCore as she develops new customers and industries for the company.

 

In 2017 we added a new specialty construction team in the Hospitality field which includes: Hotels, Multi-Family and Senior Living projects.  With the Hospitality Construction Market we’ve progressed into larger projects in terms of size, volume and value. This team is led by Jim Heaton, Sr. VP Multi Family / Hospitality, with over 35 years of experience in Multi-Family construction. Current Projects include a Senior Living Memory Care Facility and an Olympic Housing Complex in Southern California.

Start-up Focus

Successful Expansion

PacifiCore has new business units in Construction Services, Restaurant segment and a new team in the Hospitality field of Hotels, Multi-Family and Senior Living.  We are now able to focus on larger projects with a well-known team of experts in their field of expertise.

Through our Board of Director’s experience and leadership we have had great success, achieving a rank among the Orange County Business Journal’s list of Fastest Growing Companies for the past 3 years in a row.

Our first independent Board of Director, Dave Hunt comes with many years of business experience.  He is also our legal counsel, business strategist and our Managing Director of Services (Division).  Under his direction and leadership, our 24/7 construction services department, which services retail, restaurants, super markets and specialty stores has grown exponentially in accounts and profitability.

Scot is now running the operational side of the construction business while Jeff handles the Company’s financial (growth) side of the business, which includes: business development, marketing and financial responsibilities. He works and runs the field construction teams thru Jim Heaton our Sr. VP of Construction and Hospitality.   Scot continually focuses on quality, field growth and the successful completion of construction projects.

PacifiCore Today

Today PacifiCore is a recognized brand in the General Construction industry and a major contractor in the construction industry.  Our financial history speaks for itself in growth and customer loyalty.

  • Our first quarter year of 2011 we had $2M in contracted sales, with an aggregated 6% gross profit.
  • 2012 we achieved over $5M in sales with a gross profit of 8%.
  • 2013 we accomplished $9.2M in sales with a 9% gross profit margin and a net profit over 8%.
  • 2014 we exceeded $18M in sales an aggregate profit of 9%.
  • 2015 we achieved $23M in sales, with an aggregate gross profit margin of 9%.
  • 2016 we experienced the highest growth in our history from $23M to $35M. We grew in Profitability, Revenue, Billings, Gross and Net Profits.

We are on track to achieve $50M in sales for 2017 with our goal of hitting $100M in sales by 2020.
