Company History

Since our establishment in 2009, originally as Austin Construction, PacifiCore has evolved significantly from a small tenant improvement contractor to a respectable partner in Hospitality and Senior Living construction. From 2009 to 2014 our clientele grew from Hispanic grocery chains to large developers with an array of retail and restaurant companies in between. This variety allowed us to expand our reach from Southern California to Arizona, Nevada and Washington. Backed by experienced management staff, a dedicated daily operations team, and a knowledgeable Board of Directors PacifiCore continues to look for new opportunities while strengthening our current relationships.

Community & Charity

Jeff Austin has been a proud member of the Roosters Foundation of Orange County, for over 18 years.

The Roosters Foundation works with over 30 local charities to raise funds for disadvantaged and at risk children.

In addition to Jeff’s personal charity, each Holiday season, PacifiCore hosts a toy drive in honor of CAST, the Child Abuse Services Team of Orange County, where Jeff and his wife Brenda regularly volunteer.

PacifiCore Founders

Jeff Austin and Scot Austin started PacifiCore Construction Inc. in 2011. Their dream was to become the most highly respected, family owned construction business, built for longevity.

Prior to PacifiCore, Jeff Austin had over 30 years of experience in the high-tech industry, bringing industry skills in senior executive management, marketing, sales and business info-structure. His unique blend of executive management and team building skills, combined with Scot Austin’s 15 years of commercial construction, has made PacifiCore the success it is today.

Scot’s knowledge of the day-to-day operations and management know-how is an important skill required for today’s construction industry.

The combined guidance has been instrumental in PacifiCore’s rapid growth and the company’s success as an industry leader in specific market segments.

Both Jeff and Scot realize that having the right, key individuals, with experience in our target industries separate PacifiCore from the competition. They believe this is critical to building the continued long-term success of PacifiCore.

Jeff and Scot have each experienced the ups and downs of the industry and have dedicated themselves to PacifiCore and making the dream a reality.

Jeff Austin

Jeff has over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, real estate, and construction finances as well as his Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Management from the University of Colorado. He has held a number of notable positions over the years including President of a Land Development Real Estate Investment Company, President and Vice President of Sales level positions within the high-tech industry, and continues to sit on various Boards of Directors.

After establishing PacifiCore Construction, Jeff drew on his past experience to assemble PacifiCore’s Board of Directors with professionals from development and construction, to legal advisors. In addition to his dedication to PacifiCore, Jeff is also involved in a several of Charitable Organizations.

With his variety of skills and background in diverse fields of business management, Jeff continues to push PacifiCore to remain a strong company rooted in the fundamental values of client satisfaction and trust, ensuring successful projects and repeat clientele.

Scot is a senior level construction executive with expertise in business development, marketing, strategic client development and project delivery. He is a proven relationship builder with an exceptional ability to construct and facilitate effective teams. Scot’s 15 years of retail construction experience makes him an invaluable problem solver who always exceeds client expectations.

J. Scott Fawcett, President & Founder | Marinita Development Company

J. Scott Fawcett

Scott is the President and Founder of Marinita Development Company, a real estate development company. Scott has worked in the real estate field for more than 50 years and has developed retail commercial, residential, multi-tenant, and industrial facilities throughout the United States, specializing in retail shopping centers. Throughout his career he has been active in numerous industry-related associations such as: the International Platform Association, International Council of Shopping Centers, International Right of Way Association, International Institute of Valuers, Institute of Business Appraisers, American Association of Certified Appraisers, Urban Land Institute, National Association of Review Appraisers and Mortgage Underwriters, California Licensed Contractors Association and the Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives.

Chris Christy, President | Doty Bros.

Chris Christy

Chris has been with the Meruelo Group since 2000 and has served as President of Doty Bros. since January of 2001. In business for over 80 years, Doty Bros. customer base includes many well-known global energy companies, public utilities, private organizations, Fortune 500 companies and publicly held companies. Prior to Doty Bros. he was the Senior Vice President of a major banking institution. Chris brings to PacifiCore’s Board of Directors his experience in running large construction companies and substantial expertise in construction finances.

Phil Polich | Independent Director

Phil Polich

Phil has an extensive and varied background in industries such as residential construction and development, venture capital, and private equity funding. He is a licensed general contractor, CPA, real estate broker with Ernest and Young, CEO of two NYSE public corporations, and successfully involved in launching two IPO’s. He was also a founding director of American Southwest Financial, one of the original mortgage securitization entities founded in the late 1980′s.  Phil has worked with major underwriters including: Goldman Sachs, Solomon Bros, First Boston, Prudential Securities, Morgan Stanley and a number of others.

David S. Hunt, Esq., Managing Director of PacifiCore Services

David S. Hunt, Esq.

Mr. Hunt has been involved in creating, financing and growing development stage enterprises in a variety of industries since the 1990’s. He has participated as a founder, investor, advisor or legal counsel, for numerous public offerings and venture funds. Mr. Hunt has participated in hundreds of millions of dollars in private equity and debt placements, private-to-public mergers, and IPO’s with various business development activities within the securities industries.

In addition to his entrepreneurial and advisory activities, Mr. Hunt has served as general counsel for a publicly reporting real estate company based in Los Angeles, California since 2004 and is principal of The Hunt Law Corporation, PC. His consulting and legal practice focuses on securities laws and corporate issues including real estate development and construction firms. His practice emphasis is in early stage companies, smallcap and microcap publicly reporting companies.
